Dear Friends;
I once heard a saying: If you want to hear about a person's good attributes talk to his mother; if you want to hear about a person's faults talk to his wife!
I mention that because we all have our strengths and we all have our shortcomings. Each sheriff’s candidate would like the voters to look at their strengths and look at their opponent’s weakness!
In reality each person is known by the fruit they produce. I offer the fruit of my work, what I have been able to accomplish over a career of progressive advancement in public service for everyone to examine.
We deserve to have the best represent us as our elected officials and as our county’s chief law enforcement officer.
If you believe that the past 14 years has been relatively trouble free with low crime rates, high crime solving rates, no labor issues, balanced budgets, reduced jail overcrowding, improvements in technology and responsiveness, then I would appreciate your support on November 2nd!

Keith Govier for Grant County Sheriff
Sheriff Govier was elected to his first term in the fall of 1996 and took office in January 1997. He began his law enforcement career in the United States Air Force where he was a security policeman. After his military experience he became a Police Officer for the City of Prairie du Chien for six years. Sheriff Govier left municipal policing to begin a career in retail security. For several years he worked for two different companies in Illinois and Ohio. In 1988 after returning to Southwest Wisconsin, where he grew up, Grant County hired him as a Deputy Sheriff. In 1991 Keith volunteered to be the first County D.A.R.E. officer and continued in that position until 1995.
Qualifications:- Grant County Sheriff for 13 Years.
- 9 Years Local Deputy Sheriff.
- First County D.A.R.E. Officer.
- Air Force Police Experience.
