Sheriff Govier is always on the watch to help protect Grant County. Recently, he helped solve two major cases. The child sex abuse case involving Amish citizens near Fennimore, and a major drug bust in Belmont. Grant County Sheriff's K-9 units were brought in to find the illegal drugs.

Under Sheriff Govier, the Grant County Sheriff's Department makes, on average, one drug and four drunk drinking arrests a week. This is one less person selling drugs to minors, and fewer people driving drunk on Grant County roads.

The sheriff's department has a comprehensive drug abuse program. It participates in a multi-county drug enforcement group. This saves money for tax payers, while allowing for a full time drug investigator. The sheriff's department also provides drug awareness instruction in the county's schools.

Whether you are out on the roads, or walking the sidewalks, you can feel safe, knowing that the Grant County Sheriff's Department, and its sheriff, are doing everything possible to make your community a safe place.
